Reading Order
Looking for the reading order of Megan’s books? Check out the complete list below!
Note: Most of my series read best in numbered order, but you can still jump in and enjoy a full, satisfying happy ending. Expect cozy coastal towns, second chances, family ties, and fresh starts. Availability and upcoming releases can change, so I’ll keep this updated from time to time.
My Simple Rule for Reading Order
When readers ask me where to start, I usually point them to publication order (or the series number). It’s like following a town map instead of teleporting between streets. You’ll catch character growth, recurring side characters, and little pieces of local history that build book by book.
That said, I also write each book to stand on its own with its own central couple and resolution. If a blurb grabs you, it’s okay to start there. You might miss a few nods or learn something a bit early, but you won’t be lost. Below, I’m listing the clearest reading path for each series.
SEABROOK ISLAND SERIES (READ IN ORDER)
Seabrook Island is the most connected world I’ve written, so order matters a bit more here. Starting with the prequel is optional, but it can make the emotional threads feel richer. As of Jan 2026, a few later titles may still be on pre-order or marked coming soon.
Whispers at Seabrook (0.5, prequel)
The Beach Cottage (1)
Beachview Second Chances (2)
Beachview Coming Home (3)
Beachview New Chapter (4)
Beachview Summer Guest (5)
The Beachview Wedding (6)
Beachview Sea Glass Serenity (7)
A Beachview Christmas (8, holiday)
Beachview Family Secrets (9)
Beachview Starting Over (10)
Beachview Reunion (11, pre-order)
Beachview Baking Contest (12, coming soon)
The Lighthouse Legacy (13, coming soon)
The Beachview Inn (14, coming soon)
Beachview Stories And Scones (15, coming soon)
When You Can Safely Start in the Middle
- You only want a holiday story right now (seasonal comfort reads are a mood).
- You’re craving a specific trope or life stage (later-in-life love, starting over, healing).
- You’re here for a certain setting (inns, beaches, small-town cafés).
What you might miss: small callbacks, returning neighbors, and a minor spoiler or two about earlier couples.
A Fast Starting Point if You Want Cozy Romance
If you want to skip the prequel, I suggest starting with The Beach Cottage. It gives you the heart of Seabrook Island right away, then the deeper connections unfold naturally as you continue.
My Other Series (SUNSET COVE, PORT HAVEN SERIES, etc)
You don’t have to finish Seabrook Island before trying another series. Each one is its own front door, with its own cast, tone, and starting point.
Sunset Cove reads best in numerical order. Titles are: The Summer Inn (Book 1), A Summer of Promise (Book 2), Before Summer Ends (Book 3), Summer Ever After (Book 4). Other Sunset Cove books exist too, so I recommend following the numbering shown on the retailer or series page, starting with Book 1 (https://meganholleyauthor.com/product/the-summer-inn-ebook/).
Rosebay Love Island Series is also its own series, with book 1 – A Valentine for Us currently available (please check on my site for updates).
From my other worlds, here’s what’s confirmed: Seasons of Port Haven starts with Spring of Becoming (Book 1, 2025) and the Shoreline Club series launches in October.
If You Want One Book to Test My Style
Try The Beach Cottage for a classic series start, Spring of Becoming for a seasonal small-town reset, or A Valentine to Remember for coastal comfort in a different setting. If it’s late fall or winter reading, A Beachview Christmas is an easy cozy pick.
